Engineering Surveying

Precision surveying and set-out for complex civil and infrastructure projects.

Engineering surveying is at the core of 2Spatial. We support major infrastructure and construction projects from establishment and early works through to final verification and handover. Our surveyors work closely with project engineers, supervisors, foremen and construction teams to ensure approved design information is accurately transferred into the field and completed work is independently verified.

Our role starts with understanding the construction methodology, design tolerances, survey control, staging and program. From there, we establish practical survey workflows that suit the project rather than treating each request as an isolated set-out task. This is particularly important on major road, rail, bridge, water and civil projects where multiple work fronts and frequent design revisions can create significant risk if spatial information is not controlled.

2Spatial can undertake primary and secondary control, construction set-out, verification, conformance and as-built surveys across earthworks, pavements, drainage, utilities, bridges, retaining structures, rail infrastructure, stations, footings, columns, precast components and other complex works.

Engineering surveying is integrated with our digital engineering capability. Field data can be prepared and checked through 12d workflows, machine-control surfaces can be coordinated with survey set-out, and completed works can be processed into controlled as-built and conformance deliverables. This provides a continuous spatial workflow from design through construction to handover.

Our Capability

  • Primary and secondary survey control
  • Construction set-out and independent verification
  • Road alignments, pavements, kerbs, barriers and road furniture
  • Bulk earthworks, excavation and detailed earthworks
  • Drainage, utilities and underground services
  • Bridges, abutments, girders, bearings and structural elements
  • Footings, columns, gridlines and precast construction
  • Rail and station infrastructure
  • Conformance and tolerance surveys
  • As-built surveys and handover data
  • Volumes, quantities and surface comparisons

Why it matters to the project?

Accurate, timely surveying gives construction teams confidence that work is being built in the correct position and provides traceable verification before the next activity proceeds.
